Carmel Sunset — 17-Mile Drive

Some places stop you in your tracks. The sunset along 17-Mile Drive in Carmel was one of those moments — a sky on fire, the ocean glowing gold, and the kind of stillness that makes you want to hold onto it forever.

This original soft pastel painting is my attempt to translate that breathtaking coastal glow onto paper. I played with the warm oranges and deep purples, figuring it out as I went — and honestly, that's the part I love most about painting. The journey of chasing a feeling and finding it in color.
